The income-tax filing page lists ITR-3 with intraday equity trading or F&O derivatives. Its FAQ says salaried employees with capital gains from equity shares, mutual funds, or immovable property must file ITR-2, or ITR-3 if carrying on active intraday or F&O trading.
ITR-3 is for individuals and HUFs with a proprietary business, a profession maintaining books, intraday equity trading or F&O derivatives, or a partner in a partnership firm.
ITR-2 is for capital gains when there is no business or profession income. It says intraday or F&O trading uses ITR-3. The gain itself is worked on the capital gains page. The ITR-2 page does not state a rate or a holding period.
The income-tax filing page asks investors and traders to download the consolidated capital gains statement from CAMS, KFintech, or stockbrokers. Document collection on that page also names capital gains reports with Form 16, AIS, and Form 26AS.
The AIS page can list securities. An AIS row is information to check, not an automatic copy into the return.
Dividend income in ITR is a different chip. Dividend on ITR-1 is under other sources, not the capital-gains or F&O rows.
Presumptive business filing stays on ITR-4. This chip page does not state turnover limits for trading.
This chip page does not state an F&O tax rate, a turnover rule, or a holding period.
After the return is filed, e-verify within 30 days. The return is quoted before it is filed. The first discussion is free.
