Income tax · no business income
ITR-2 is for individuals and HUFs who do not have income from business or profession, and who have capital gains or another item the salary form does not cover. The office is at 515 Trichy Road, Singanallur.
This page is ITR-2. A business with books stays on the ITR-3 page. The presumptive return stays on the ITR-4 page. Do not send the income-tax password in chat. Call +91 94454 38387.
Individuals and HUFs who do not have income from business or profession use ITR-2 when they have capital gains from shares, mutual funds, or real estate, more than one house property, foreign income or foreign assets, a directorship or unlisted equity, or income exceeding ₹50 lakh. Capital gains take you out of ITR-1. ITR-2 is the usual form when there is no business income.
The gain itself is worked on the capital gains page. This page does not state a rate or a holding period. Grandfathering, where it still applies, stays on that page.
Income from a proprietary business or profession must use ITR-3 or ITR-4. Intraday equity trading or F&O derivatives is listed on ITR-3. A salary return with capital gains, and no such trading, is this form. The form list stays on the ITR forms page.
After the return is filed, e-verify within 30 days. The return is quoted before it is filed. The first discussion is free.
