Quick answer

This page is dividend in the return. The AIS check stays on the AIS page. Small salary-and-interest filing stays on the ITR-1 page. Share capital gains stay off ITR-1 on the filing table. Do not send the income-tax password in chat. Call +91 94454 38387.

What the published pages state

The personal tax service chip is labelled Dividend income in ITR.

The income-tax filing page lists ITR-1 with other sources as bank interest and dividend. The same table says ITR-1 is not for capital gains from shares, a directorship or unlisted shares, income above ₹50 Lakhs, more than one house property, or foreign assets or foreign income.

ITR-1 is for a resident individual with total income up to ₹50 Lakhs when that income is salary or pension, one house property, other sources such as bank interest or dividend, and agricultural income up to ₹5,000 in the published ITR-1 copy.

AIS, broker papers, and TDS credit

The Annual Information Statement can list dividends with salary, interest, and securities. An AIS row is information to check, not an automatic addition. Do not copy a dividend row into the return until the broker statement or other record supports it. That rule is on the mismatch page as well.

The filing flow cross-checks pre-filled amounts against Form 16, AIS, and Form 26AS. Form 26AS shows the tax credit. The credit in a return should follow Form 26AS.

The internal audit services page says dividend TDS under section 194 applies when thresholds are crossed. The TDS on dividend (section 194) page is that internal-audit line only. This chip page does not state thresholds or a rate.

What it is not

Capital gains from shares use a different ITR row on the filing table. Dividend on ITR-1 is under other sources, not the capital-gains exclusion list. Intraday and F&O trading are on the personal tax chip F&O and equity trading tax, listed on ITR-3.

The income-tax filing proof list names section 80C, section 80D, 80G donations, and NPS u/s 80CCD(1B). It does not name dividend as a deduction proof.

Deductor TDS return filing is on the TDS return filing page. This chip page does not state a TDS rate.

Before the return is filed

  1. Send the broker or company dividend statement, AIS, and Form 26AS.
  2. Send Form 16 if salary applies, and interest certificates if bank interest applies.
  3. The desk matches dividend and TDS rows to those papers before you approve the draft.
  4. You complete e-verification yourself. That step is on the e-verification page.

After the return is filed, e-verify within 30 days. The return is quoted before it is filed. The first discussion is free.
