Quick answer

This page separates the return rows on the 2026 tax calendar. Preparing the return stays on the income-tax filing page. Do not send the income-tax password in chat. Call +91 94454 38387.

Which row applies

Section 44AB decides whether tax audit applies. Future Tax confirms that before the return is prepared. The turnover limit is not copied onto this page. A transfer-pricing case uses the 30 November 2026 row, which the calendar marks as indicative. That row is explained on the transfer-pricing page. Confirm that date on the portal as well. AY 2026-27 is the return for income earned in the financial year that ended 31 March 2026. It is not the return for the year now in progress.

What 31 October is not

The calendar also lists the July to September TDS return, Forms 24Q and 26Q, on 31 October 2026. That filing is explained on the quarterly TDS page. A company statutory audit and an internal audit are a different piece of work, on the audit comparison page. Neither of those is this income-tax return.

If the date that applies has passed

For a non-audit case, 31 July 2026 has passed. The next filing is on the belated and revised page. A return filed after the due date in force can attract a late fee under section 234F and interest under section 234A. The amounts and the date are the ones on the filing page and the portal. 31 October is not that due date unless tax audit applies.

After the return is filed, e-verify within 30 days. That step is on the e-verification page. You complete it yourself.

Before it is filed

  1. Send the accounts and the portal screen that shows whether tax audit applies.
  2. The desk confirms which calendar row is still open for that PAN.
  3. You approve the draft. The return is filed after that approval.
  4. You complete e-verification. The acknowledgement follows after the portal accepts the return.

Income-tax work starts at ₹2,000 on the Coimbatore income-tax page. A return where tax audit applies is quoted before it is filed. The first discussion is free. The length depends on the file.

Common questions

Has the 31 July 2026 row passed?

Yes. That row was the non-audit return for AY 2026-27. It is not the date still open. If that was your due date, the next filing is the belated return, and the date is confirmed on the portal.

Does every business use 31 October?

No. The 31 October 2026 row is the one the calendar lists where tax audit applies. Section 44AB decides that. Future Tax confirms it before the return is prepared. The turnover limit is not copied onto this page.

Is the 31 October TDS return the same filing?

No. The calendar also lists the July to September TDS return, Forms 24Q and 26Q, on 31 October 2026. That is a TDS return, not the income-tax return.
